On Friday, August 8 - Sunday, August 10, 2008, David participated in the Bowles Family Reunion at Riverside Resort, Canyon Lake, TX.

David spoke to the 102nd Galbreath Reunion, near Oakland, IL on July 20, 2008.

On July 19, 2008, David participated in the grave marking service for Revolutionary War Soldier William Galbreath at Patsy Mitchell Cemetary Ashmore, IL., a joint program of the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution.

On October 19, 2007, David participated in the Daughters of the Republic of Texas' 20th Texas History Forum at Alamo Hall in San Antonio.

David spoke to his grandson Nicholas' fourth grade class at Press Elementary in McKinney, Texas. The McKinney newspaper covered the appearance and wrote a nice story with photos: A Special Kind of Show and Tell.

On August 18, 2007, David spoke to the Patrick Henry Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution in Austin. While in Austin, he had a live radio interview with Bryan Beck, KGSR-107.1

The 101st Galbreath/Mitchell Reunion took place at Oakland Miller Park, Oakland Illinois, on July 22nd. David met the descendants of Adam Mitchell's son John and gave a presentation about his book and the Mitchell family history.

The "Lifetimers" of Woodland Baptist Church hosted a lunch on April 19th. David spoke on the topic: "The Role of Churches in the American Revolution."

The SAC Book Fair took place on the grounds of San Antonio College on April 14. David was one of dozens of Texas authors available to sign and sell books.

David participated in Lights, Camera, Author!, a Book and Author Dinner which the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County (Texas) said in pre-event publicity "will highlight literacy and a love of reading and writing by giving literacy supporters a chance to meet and dine with several prominent Texas authors." David signed books then enjoyed dinner with enthusiastic readers and supporters of the Literacy Council, which has trained more than 2,000 volunteers and served more than 15,000 adults learners since its inception in 1987.

On Saturday, October 21, 2006, David was one of six authors signing and selling books at the Liberty Hill Library Benefit in Liberty Hill, Texas, 35 miles NW of Austin.

David attended the informational retreat/seminar to qualify as a member of the Texas Authors Speak, an organization to promote Texas authors as speakers on September 30.

David spent time during the week of September 16, 2006 in Jonesboro, TN doing additional research for Adam's Daughter's. He is in the process of writing this book, the second in the Westward Sagas.

He attended the meeting of the Jonesborough Genealogical Society. The society meets jointly with the Washington County Historical Association in the Washington County Courthouse.

On Saturday, March 18, 2006, David Bowles participated in the 225th Observance of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse at the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, the site of the battle and Adam Mitchell's farm, as described in Spring House.

He represented the San Antonio Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution at the 11:00 AM ceremony, laying a wreath at the Nathanael Greene Monument.

That afternoon, David conducted a seminar on the Mitchell Family at the Buffalo Creek Presbyterian Church, founded 250 years ago by Adam Mitchell's family.

Forty-five direct descendants of Adam Mitchell gathered in Greensboro to observe the occasion. The family attended a special service at the Buffalo Creek Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning. Three generations (the 7th, 8th, and 9th generations from Adam Mitchell) enjoyed the reunion.
