I am so excited about your free ebook offer! I am in Texas now, but lived in Winston-Salem and High Point while I working in Greensboro. It will be fun to visit the area through the eyes of a historian. The place is beautiful and the people wonderful. I miss it.

Glad you enjoy e-books and hope the battery situation gets better.

E-books are great for when I am at home or the office, the obligatory no trees died to produce this book disclaimer. I’m really hoping battery technology soon advances to the point where batteries can hold a charge for 2-3 weeks because the electricity is limited (diesel generator) at our field site and reading after supper is a favorite pasttime.

I am looking forward to offering my own ebooks in a couple of years. I have one finished except for editing and two others in progress. I appreciate every author who has begun offering one of their stories for free during the week. I think it will help build the market and momentum for even more ebooks and authors who have something to say or a story to tell.

I won an iPod Touch in a writing contest and it has become my ebook reader of choice, replacing the NEC MobilePro 780 and Palm 515 with much greater capacity and clearer screen. I look forward to reading Spring House and eagerly await it’s arrival.

I only read on my Kindle now. I tried reading a hardback book a couple of weeks ago and really hated having to hold the whole book and turn pages. I have even bought books that I have in paperback for my Kindle just because I don’t want to hold the book. I’m looking forward to reading this book since I have become interested in genealogy and my family has been traced back to North Carolina in this time period. I’m sure I will want to buy the rest after reading the free one. Thanks so much.

I’ve just finished reading the first chapter of Spring House. Historical novels are always interesting and educational reads. I’d love to finish this book.
